This blog is about me and my music. My current focus is on learning piano using the Sudnow Method and guitar improvisation. I currently play guitar in a band that concentrates on playing the early rock and roll of the 50’s and 60’s. I also play guitar in a trio setting that focuses more on the jazzy side. Seemingly irrelevant posts on this blog reflect topics that are probably expressed in my music somewhere.

Taking it Slow
Taking it slow is I think, key for me. Not playing a song at slow tempo, as much as learning the song slowly, trying to incorporate learning what the song has to offer. Trying to memorize chord configurations and closed voicings as I go. Slow, concentrated learning is better than fast and sloppy attempts at learning a song. For me, anyway. And letting go of the ego in learning the piano is also a good thing for me. Slow, concentrated egoless learning is the ticket.
